2026 is just on the horizon.

Instead of writing some sappy post about this past year or some inspirational "I wonder what next year will bring?" garbage, I'm writing my slightly unhinged wish list because manifestation is a thing, right? Now, I'm not calling these resolutions because that feels aggressive. These are more like polite suggestions to the universe, delivered with snacks (preferably Funions, Dove dark chocolate, and a Coke but I'm not picky).

The list goes as follows (in no particular order):

  • 1. More Friend Time (In Multiple Time Zones)

In 2026 I want to see my friends in real life, not just through phones and Instagram posts.

Texas.

California.

Canada.

Dori, Julie, Whitney- this is me manifesting hugs, coffee, and conversations in real life- no time difference, at a Disney park would be ideal but again... I'm not picky. I also want to spend more time with my local friends (I have too many to list but they know who they are) because community is important and not just something people say on mugs. Plus, every time I see my friends I'm happier.

  • 2. One Truly Epic Trip (Paris, I'm Looking at You)

I want one big, unforgettable trip, and yes-it's Paris.

This means:

  • Refreshing my French (bonjour, croissant, panic)
  • Building a Parisian wardrobe, which I assume is just black clothing, scarves, and confidence.
  • Pretending I know what I'm doing while ordering coffee

2026 Me will be cultured. Or at least convincingly so.

  • 3. One Disney Trip (Even a Tiny One Counts)

Not a full production.

Not a spreadsheet-level event.

Even a long weekend will do.

Let me walk down Main Street, eat something Mickey shaped, and remember what joy feels like without needing a Lightening Lane to justify it.

Magic, but make it low pressure.

  • 4. Losing 20 More Pounds (Gently, Kindly)

I lost 15 pounds this year, which I'm happy with.

I'd like to lose 20 more, not because I hate myself-but because I think Future Me would appreciate it.

We are talking steady, realistic, and without pretending salads cure emotional exhaustion.

  • 5. Solving the Anemia Situation

I love Snow White.

I do not love the "Victorian child who needs a fainting couch" complexion.

I'd love to figure out why I'm anemic and maybe absorb iron the way a normal human does so that I'm not chronically exhausted.

  • 6. House-Trained Dogs (I Am Begging)

I love my dogs. I do. They're still puppies.

But the phantom accidents-the pee puddles and rogue turds that just appear out of nowhere- are testing me spiritually.

I would love:

  • Fewer mystery messes
  • Less incidents where I blindly step into a puddle of pee in my socks.

Yeah, that would be just splendid. Colby, Winnie... please, my darlings, I'm begging you.

  • 7. Time for Things I Actually Enjoy

Not just things I'm responsible for. Things I like.

Quiet mornings.

Creative time.

Walks. Lots of walks with my pups and my people.

Moments I don't feel rushed or owed to anyone else.

I want more of those.

  • 8. Zero Hospital Visits (Especially for Mom)

This one isn't funny, but it's real.

I just want peace. No scary phone calls, no emergencies, no mystery ailments.

  • 9.More Pie

I want to bake more pies.

Not hustle pies.

Not "this is productive" pies.

Just pies because butter exists, fresh produce is delightful, people smile when pie shows up, and they are little edible pieces of art.

  • 10. More Art Shows, Less Hesitation

I want to enter more art shows. Photos, paintings, drawings... it's time.

Less "what if it's not good enough"

More "I made this and it matters"

2026 is not the year of hiding.

These aren't resolutions.

They're intentions with humor, hope, and very realistic expectations.

If even half of this happens, I'll call it a win.

If all of this happens?

I'll be in Paris, wearing black, speaking French confidently wrong- and planning my next Disney weekend while eating pie (I'll settle for a croissant) and drinking the cutest, little coffee.

Hey, a girl can dream, right?
