"There's nothing to do in this town."
I hear this all of the time. I've said it myself. Yes, finding new and exciting things to do in rural Western Maryland can be a challenge however, there is always something if you just look.
Enter trivia night at Locust Post Brewery.
The first Thursday of every month (with the occasional exception due to scheduling issues), Locust Post Brewery in Little Orleans hosts a fabulous trivia night. We have been attending for the past year and look forward to our monthly game.
If you have not been to Locust Post before, it is a family farm brewery owned and operated by Tony and Denise Cornwell. While some might come for the beer (and they have a great selection). We come for the pizza. It never disappoints.
Tip: before you arrive for trivia night have your team's name ready. We use the same one "Oh Know" (see what we did there). Your host, Todd Logsdon, will keep you on your toes with some themed questions, random questions, and a whole bunch of everything in between. I'm not going to lie; I hate sports questions so I pawn those off to anyone else I can. I promise you'll know at least something though. The good news though is if you don't know an answer in round two, you can always buy a drink and get an answer (up to two times). I had no idea Dan Quayle's first name was actually James until I purchased that answer last night.
At the end of the game the team with the lowest score gets to pick the final category. From there, you bet your points, and it can be anybody's game. Let me tell you, we have a lot of smart cookies at our trivia nights. It's all in good fun, lots of laughs, and overall, just a relaxing evening.
While you are there, you can always pick up some local honey and other local commodities, browse the amazing artwork and just take in all the charm of the brewery. On nice days, the doors open to the patio letting in all the fresh air. In the summertime, the lavender is blooming outside alongside rows of hops. The vibe is cool and comfortable.
The next trivia night will be on September 12, 2024 at 6pm. Wrangle up a group of your closest (or smartest) friends and take the scenic drive out to Locust Post for a fun filled evening. Win or lose I guarantee a fun filled evening. Hopefully I'll see you there.
