Senior year is upon us.
It's amazing how fast those seventeen years and this summer flew by. Here we are heading into my oldest daughter Charlotte's senior year of high school. She was selected by her peers to be on the Homecoming Court of her high school. However, she gets to share the experience with an incredible group of individuals, three of which were her childhood classmates. When they announced the court last year, the kids (yes, I still call them kids) immediately started talking about doing some photos at their old elementary school. So, after their official photoshoot at Chrisstudio we did just that.
But first, look at these cute little ten-year-olds.
First stop of the day was Chrisstudio for the official portraits of the entire court. You can see these images at Chrisstudio on Facebook.
Next, we made a detour to the high school for some shots at the stadium and school. It was HOT, full sun, and literally the worst time of day to shoot but we made it work.
After wrapping up at Fort Hill, we ventured off to get some shots at their old elementary school. This was my favorite part of the day. Hearing their stories, seeing their faces with genuine smiles, and just experiencing their excitement about being back in the school that essentially shaped them into the students they are today. It was such a fun experience and one that let me work outside of my box. Teachers, if you ever doubt your impact on a child, DON'T. These four had nothing but positive memories, lots of laughs, and pure joy over reminiscing over their childhood. In just a couple of weeks they will embark on their final chapter in their education. I know in a matter of months they will part ways. However, I know each of the students will do amazing things with whatever they choose to do in the future. Hopefully they look back on this experience as fondly as they do their elementary days.
